Tipping in Cuba

The folks that work in the resorts make their living from tips and not their salaries. A peso here and a peso there goes a long way. So do gifts of things that are so rare there. Even good money can't buy decent soap, tissue, or cosmetics. A small make-up kit or a mini perfume bottle on your pillow when you leave your room for the day will really brighten someone's day.

We also brought a lot of Spud's summer clothes that won't fit him by the time the warm months at home roll around. On check-out day, we left all sorts of goodies including the toiletries we didn't want to lug back.
