I found the Crafty Caravan from a rack card at gymnastics class. I couldn't wait to come home to sign up online. Once a month they mail out shiny green envelopes delivering simple, cutie, themed craft projects.

This month was about animals in the winter time.
Here's what they say:
"November - Snuggle up and get Cozy!
As fall days get colder, thoughts of winter loom in the air. Creatures big and small collect food to store for the winter, getting ready to snuggle up and keep warm as the air gets cold. Some animals have already started hibernating for the winter!
Think ‘warm and cozy’ with this month’s Kids Craft Club projects. Decorate a storage box with a patchwork of fabric pieces, just like a cozy patchwork quilt. Then use all different sizes of circles to make a bear picture – just like one that would be hibernating this winter!"

It also included a thought provoking list of Q+As about how bears, birds and squirrels cope in the winter, step by step instructions and everything we needed to complete the project [except glue which they recommend you keep on hand].
The paper bag bear puppet and the treasure chest will be dry enough to play with tomorrow.

This would make a nice little gift for kids of parents who are just too busy to do all the planning and collecting that's required to put these little projects together. I just took a sneak peak on the website and next month's craft is a Christmas ornament. Looking forward to it.
