Binky Patrol

MAKING BLANKETS AND GIVING THEM TO KIDS IN NEED OF COMFORT

My mom found Binky Patrol online, an organization that distributes donated, handmade blankets to children in shelters, hospitals, low income pre-schools etc. Their stories inspired my mom to help and she promptly went shopping for the supplies. On our last visit we helped with some of the cutting and pinning to make 3 binkies for the group that gets the least attention: teenage boys. Grey, red, and burgundy fleece did the trick nicely I think. And a little binding customized them a bit.

Check out the site for a wide range of patterns and ideas if you are interested in helping the cause. Maybe this is the opportunity to use up that fabric you've been wondering what to do with?
