Yay for Wee Parts!

Is it too early to start thinking about the holidays? I can't wait to get my hands on these sweet sets. The kings are awesome. I adore the little cook set. Do you think they are making felafel? And anyone who knows me at all, knows I have a special place in my heart for camels. I've always appreciated the detail that goes into Playmobil. It's toys like these that make me extra-specially happy that my little guy is past the choking hazard stage. Yay small parts!

Hi there! I was very happy to find your site - as a fellow travelling mom... :-) I'm pregnant right now and thinking of going to Cuba with our kids when the baby is about 8-10 months old. I hope you'll write about your experiences there! :-)

Congratulations! And thanks for the note. And what a treat to find your site. Fabulous! Thank you.

Our trip to Cuba in January will be our second time there with our Spud, and third time there overall. All trips will be 'all-inclusive' based, with some 'independent travel' day trips. And yes, I am definitely looking forward to writing about it.

Do you have ideas of where in Cuba you want to go yet?

I don't have anything specific planned yet - apart from Havanna ofcourse. But I'm thinking a combination of maybe two-three weeks backpacking style and one week resort beach life. I guess it will be easier to know when the new baby is born. Maybe I'll be to worn out by beeing a "mother of two" that beach life is all I can handle... ;-)

Havanna is so fantastic. We stayed at a resort in Jibicoa which is about an hour away from the big city. We went in twice: once with a rental car [a little expensive at $100 USD per day], and once with the resort tour which we just used as transportation and dumped as soon as we got there.

I love Havanna. I think it could be, with a little $$ and a lot of loving care, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

In general, I think Cuba is a great family destination. It's safe and friendly. My only hesitations about backpacking there with little ones would be the trials of using public transit and finding decent, kid-friendly food. Nothing that couldn't be overcome with a little pre-planning, though.

Ahhh. The beach. I'm dreaming of it right now.
