Yesterday's feast included a repeat of last year's broth fondue, hot pot style. And it was as even yummier than I remember.
The thing I love it about it the most is that every time you cook another morsel of meat/shrimp/veg you make the stock that much yummier. When you're done with most of the dippers, 5 minutes after you add the rice noodles and the leftover bits and you have a very fine soup to enjoy!
This year, we went all out and added a chocolate fondue as a finisher. Of course this was a smash hit the wee guy.
Chocolate Fondue
2/3 C. Whipping Cream
4 T. Nutella
1 C. Semi sweet chocolate chips
2 t. Vanilla
Dippers
Pound cake
Rice Krispy squares
Macaroons
Pineapple
Chinese Apple-Pear
Banana
Heat cream in small saucepan over medium-high heat until hot and steaming but not boiling. Pour hot cream over chocolate chips and Nutella and let stand for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and whisk until smooth. Scrape into fondue pot to keep warm.
Hmmm ... maybe a cheese fondue next year?
