San Diego Zoo Planning

CALIFORNIA | TRAVELS WITH KID

We printed out this map to work out our game plan for tomorrow. I'd like Spud to get a little excited about seeing the zoo and he really loves maps. We also plan on only spending a half day there, so as to not tucker out the boy too much, so each of us chose our favourite 3 animals for us to map out.

Me: "Which animals do you want to see?"
Spud: "My favourite animals are snakes and wormies! So I want to see them".

So first stop is the reptile house. Well, I'm glad we're flying all the way to California to see what we could probably find in Grandma's yard.

Tips for taking in the zoo that we'll find useful here and here.

have a good trip! it's a mighty big zoo to try to visit in just half a day, but if anyone can do it, you can!

Greetings from a fellow mom/designer. I don't know what your travel plans are, (how long you'll be in S.D.) but Balboa Park is full of fun museums, including the Reuben H. Fleet science museum (although Science World might be better). I grew up in SoCal but live in Vancouver now. I can't wait to take my toddler to Legoland on a visit to S.D. next year!

Trish, you're so right, it is a big zoo and we did not get to all of it. Oh well, we'll have to go back then.

Lisa, wow, designer mom who lives in van ... sister! wow, we enjoyed SD SO much! There is so much to do. We only had 2 and a half days really.

I'm going to post about our Childrens Museum day next. And we really can't wait to go back to check out more of Balboa park and Legoland.

Thanks so much for the tips ... and for dropping by.
